THE POWER OF SPIRITUAL HUNGER AND SPIRITUAL THIRST (Part One)
Psalms 42:1-2
"As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. [2] My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?"
Spiritual hunger and spiritual thirst are expressions of our spirit yearning or longing for encounters and fellowship with God. Just like the body expresses the need for physical food and natural water, the spirit and the soul also yearn for something spiritual to feed on. In this case, the word of God or the presence of God. David said,
"As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. [2] My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? "
He was longing and yearning for God and His presence.
When you notice these signs in your life, it is an indication that God is about to take you to deeper levels of revelation and encounters. Matthew 5:6 is clear about it:
" Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled."
There is a spiritual infilling that is only reserved for those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Spiritual hunger and spiritual thirst are powerful channels of spiritual blessings. They are the sure means of encountering God. They are a sign of spiritual health and alertness in the spirit. If you do not constantly desire the presence of God, His word and His glory, then there is a problem with your spirit. It is either you have backslided or the devil is playing over you. Lovers always yearns for each other. They long for their meeting time. So it is between a true believer and God. David said, "When shall I come and appear before God?" He is also the one who said,
"I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord." (Psalms 122:1 NKJV)
There is a sure place to satisfy your thirst and hunger or should I say there is someone mandated to satisfy our spiritual hunger and thirst, that is Jesus Christ. The Bible says:
" On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. [38] He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”"
(John 7:37-38 NKJV)
Moreover, to the Samaritan woman He said,
"but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." (John 4:14)
We know from John 7:37-39 that He was talking about the Holy Spirit and Eternal life that He gives to those who believe in Him. He receive eternal once. If flows into eternity. Hallelujah!
Tomorrow by the grace of God, we shall see that Jesus is not only the living water, He is also the living bread that can satisfy our soul's hunger and thirst. Glory to God! All we need to do is to completely surrender to Him. Ask Him to come into our lives and give us this water.

LA PUISSANCE DE LA FAIM ET DE LA SOIF SPIRITUELLES (Première Partie)
Psaumes 42:1-2
« Comme une biche soupire après les courants d'eau, ainsi mon âme soupire après toi, ô Dieu. [2] Mon âme a soif de Dieu, du Dieu vivant. Quand irai-je me présenter devant Dieu ? »
La faim et la soif spirituelles expriment notre désir ardent de rencontrer Dieu et de communier avec lui. Tout comme le corps exprime son besoin de nourriture physique et d'eau naturelle, l'esprit et l'âme aspirent également à une nourriture spirituelle. En l'occurrence, la parole de Dieu ou la présence de Dieu. David a dit :
« Comme une biche soupire après les courants d'eau, ainsi mon âme soupire après toi, ô Dieu. [2] Mon âme a soif de Dieu, du Dieu vivant. Quand viendrai-je me présenter devant Dieu ? »
Il désirait ardemment Dieu et sa présence.
Lorsque vous remarquez ces signes dans votre vie, c'est le signe que Dieu est sur le point de vous conduire à des niveaux plus profonds de révélation et de rencontres. Matthieu 5:6 est clair à ce sujet :
« Heureux ceux qui ont faim et soif de justice, car ils seront rassasiés. »
Il existe un remplissage spirituel réservé uniquement à ceux qui ont faim et soif de justice. La faim et la soif spirituelles sont de puissants canaux de bénédictions spirituelles. Elles sont le moyen sûr de rencontrer Dieu. Elles sont un signe de santé spirituelle et de vivacité d'esprit. Si vous ne désirez pas constamment la présence de Dieu, sa Parole et sa gloire, alors votre esprit a un problème. Soit vous avez rétrogradé, soit le diable vous manipule. Les amoureux aspirent toujours l'un à l'autre. Ils aspirent à se retrouver. Il en est de même entre un vrai croyant et Dieu.
David disait :
« Quand irai-je me présenter devant Dieu ? »
C'est aussi lui qui a dit :
« Je me suis réjoui lorsqu'on m'a dit : « Allons à la maison de l'Éternel. » (Psaumes 122:1, LSG)
Il existe un lieu sûr pour étancher notre soif et satisfaire notre faim, ou plutôt quelqu'un chargé de satisfaire notre soif spirituelle : c'est Jésus-Christ. La Bible dit :
« Le dernier jour, ce grand jour de la fête, Jésus, debout, s'écria : « Si quelqu'un a soif, qu'il vienne à moi, et qu'il boive. [38] Celui qui croit en moi, des fleuves d'eau vive couleront de son cœur, comme dit l'Écriture. » (Jean 7:37-38, LSG)
De plus, il dit à la Samaritaine : « Mais celui qui boira de l'eau que je lui donnerai n'aura jamais soif. Et l'eau que je lui donnerai deviendra en lui une source d'eau jaillissant jusque dans la vie éternelle. » (Jean 4:14)
Nous savons, d'après Jean 7: 37-39, Que Jesus parlait du Saint-Esprit et de la vie éternelle qu'il donne à ceux qui croient en lui. Ils reçoivent la vie éternelle une fois pour toutes. Elle coule jusqu'à dans l'éternité. Alléluia !
Demain, par la grâce de Dieu, nous verrons que Jésus n'est pas seulement l'eau vive, il est aussi le pain vivant qui peut satisfaire la faim et la soif de notre âme. Gloire à Dieu !
Il nous suffit de nous abandonner complètement à lui. Demandez-lui d'entrer dans nos vies et de nous donner cette eau.
