The Answer For A Guilty Conscience

Hebrews 9:14

"how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

Have you heard the voice of your conscience saying things like, "You deserve hell for the

sins you committed against your wife three years ago" or "Why are you surprised that

your child is not talking to you? You were never around when he needed you"? Or "Do you think God has forgiven you, what you did was so bad".

You know, there are people who feel depressed all the time because of a sense of guilt, and they "pay" for their sins in terms of illnesses. In fact, doctors are discovering that

many psychosomatic sicknesses are caused by guilt and condemnation because the conscience is saying, "You have done wrong. You must be punished. How can your sin not be punished?" That is why you must have an answer that will satisfy your conscience. 

When your conscience says, "You have sinned. You must be punished for this sin or else God is not a just God," you say, "Yes,I have sinned. But this sin and every other sin that I have committed were punished to the maximum in the body of Jesus Christ! So there remains no more punishment for me today, for how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse my conscience!"

My friend, the only way to bring peace to your conscience is to look to the cross of Jesus Christ. The cross of Jesus is the only answer that will satisfy your conscience. So the next time your conscience condemns you because of sin, don't try to silence it with your good works. Look to the cross and say, "Father, thank You for Jesus and the cross.

Jesus was totally condemned on my behalf for this sin, so there is now absolutely no condemnation left for me." Then, your conscience will look at the cross and say, "Ahhhh... peace." 

My friend, Jesus' finished work at the cross truly sets you free! Not freedom to continue in sins, but freedom to serve God with a free conscience, enjoying the peace thereof. Bring your heavy heart and guilty conscience to Jesus. Aplly His blood and enjoy your peace.

La réponse à une conscience coupable

 Hébreux 9:14

« À combien plus forte raison le sang de Christ, qui, par l'Esprit éternel, s'est offert lui-même sans tache à Dieu, purifiera-t-il votre conscience des œuvres mortes, afin que vous serviez le Dieu vivant ? »

Avez-vous entendu la voix de votre conscience vous dire des choses comme : « Tu mérites l'enfer pour les péchés que tu as commis contre ta femme il y a trois ans » ou « Pourquoi t'étonnes-tu que ton enfant ne te parle pas ? Tu n'étais jamais là quand il avait besoin de toi » ? Ou encore : « Penses-tu que Dieu t'a pardonné, alors que tu as fait une telle chose ? » Vous savez, certaines personnes se sentent constamment déprimées à cause d'un sentiment de culpabilité, et elles « paient » leurs péchés par la maladie. En fait, les médecins découvrent que de nombreuses maladies psychosomatiques sont causées par la culpabilité et la condamnation, car la conscience dit : « Tu as mal agi. Tu dois être puni. Comment ton péché pourrait-il ne pas être puni ? » C’est pourquoi il est essentiel d’avoir une réponse qui satisfasse ta conscience.

Quand ta conscience te dit : « Tu as péché. Tu dois être puni pour ce péché, sinon Dieu n'est pas juste », toi dit : « Oui, j'ai péché. Mais ce péché et tous les autres que j'ai commis ont été punis au maximum dans le corps de Jésus-Christ ! Il ne me reste donc plus de châtiment aujourd'hui, car à plus forte raison le sang du Christ, qui, par l'Esprit éternel, s'est offert lui-même sans tache à Dieu, purifiera-t-il ma conscience ! »

Mon ami, la seule façon d'apaiser votre conscience est de regarder à la croix de Jésus-Christ. La croix de Jésus est la seule réponse qui satisfera votre conscience. Alors, la prochaine fois que votre conscience vous condamne à cause du péché, n'essayez pas de la faire taire par vos bonnes œuvres. Regardez la croix et dites : « Père, merci pour Jésus et la croix. Jésus a été totalement condamné à ma place pour ce péché, il ne me reste donc plus aucune condamnation. ». Alors, votre conscience regardera la croix et dira : « Ahhhh… la paix. » 

Mon ami, l'œuvre accomplie par Jésus à la croix vous libère vraiment ! Non pas la liberté de continuer à pécher, mais la liberté de servir Dieu avec une conscience libre et de jouir de la paix qui en découle. Apportez votre cœur lourd et votre conscience coupable à Jésus. Appliquez son sang et savourez la paix.
