2 Corinthians 5: 21

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

If one is a carpenter, there are some words he must know them and understand them such as: word, harmer, nail, etc.; if a builder, words like: sand, cement, block, mortar, etc.; for a baker, you have: flour, sugar, yeast, etc.

There are words a child of God must be familiar with such as: faith, prayer, justification, saints, righteous or righteousness. 

One of the concepts and designation given to children of God that we must study closely and fully grasp the meaning from the Bible is the word, RIGHTEOUSNESS. 

The Bible declares that we have been make the righteousness of God in Christ." Hallelujah!

WHAT IS RIGHTEOUSNESS? 

Righteousness is the nature of God. The righteousness of God is the essential perfection of his nature, and is frequently used to designate his holiness, justice, and faithfulness (Gen 18:25; Deut 6:25). God's character is the ultimate definition and source of all righteousness (Gen. 18:25). Therefore, man's righteousness is only defined in terms of God's righteousness. 

Man’s righteousness is:

The state of being right with God and living in line with the will of God. It is not only being morally right, but it is being born again, carrying the nature of God. Here we are talking of positional righteousness. We receive it by accepting Christ.  

Righteousness is also seen as holy and upright living, in accordance with God's standards. Here is it progressive righteousness. 

For example, an adopted child in a family automatically bears the name of the family, but he has to also conform to the standards of the new family. We have been adopted into God’s family; we bear the name of God and must conform to the family rules. We bear the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and so we must live a life of righteousness. The Bible says in Matthew 6: 33:  

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. "

And in Romans 14: 17: 

"For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

The word “righteousness” comes from a root word that means "straightness." It refers to a state that conforms to an authoritative standard. So, it is not what men call righteous, that it is necessarily righteous before God. No! It is God who decides what can be called righteous. 

Today people live carelessly and expect God to understand with them and take them as they are. No, my friend. Let's understand that you can come to God as a sinner, but you cannot remain a sinner. God cannot compromise His standards. He brings you to His standards. His righteousness must be satisfied. 

We must strive to allow the Holy Spirit to change our hearts and to change our lives. Lies-telling is still a sin before God; fornication; cheating; corruption; bribe…are all acts of sin before God. Romans 6: 23a is still true. “For the wages is sin is death…” Those who are saved by grace don’t follow the road of sin. They follow the path of righteousness, the path of light. We shall see more tomorrow.

2 Corinthiens 5:21
"Celui qui n’a point connu le péché, Il l’a fait devenir péché pour nous, afin que nous devenions en Lui justice de Dieu."

Si quelqu’un est charpentier, il doit connaître et comprendre des mots tels que : bois, marteau, clou, etc. ; si c’est un maçon, des mots comme : sable, ciment, parpaing, mortier, etc. ; pour un boulanger, il y a : farine, sucre, levure, etc.
De même, un enfant de Dieu doit être familier avec des mots tels que : foi, prière, justification, saints, juste ou justice.

L’un des concepts et désignations attribués aux enfants de Dieu que nous devons étudier de près et saisir pleinement dans la Bible est le mot JUSTICE.
La Bible déclare que "nous sommes devenus justice de Dieu en Christ". Alléluia !

QU’EST-CE QUE LA JUSTICE ?
La justice est la nature même de Dieu. La justice de Dieu est la perfection essentielle de Sa nature, et elle désigne fréquemment Sa sainteté, Sa justice et Sa fidélité (Genèse 18:25 ; Deutéronome 6:25). Le caractère de Dieu est la définition ultime et la source de toute justice (Genèse 18:25). Ainsi, la justice de l’homme ne peut être définie qu’en fonction de celle de Dieu.

La justice de l’homme est :
L’état d’être en accord avec Dieu et de vivre selon Sa volonté. Il ne s’agit pas seulement d’être moralement droit, mais d’être né de nouveau, portant la nature divine. Ici, nous parlons de justice positionnelle. Nous la recevons en acceptant Christ.

La justice est aussi vue comme une vie sainte et droite, conforme aux standards de Dieu. Ici, il s’agit de justice progressive.

Par exemple, un enfant adopté dans une famille porte automatiquement le nom de cette famille, mais il doit aussi se conformer à ses règles. Nous avons été adoptés dans la famille de Dieu ; nous portons Son nom et devons nous aligner sur Ses principes. Nous portons la justice de Dieu en Christ Jésus, et nous devons donc vivre une vie de justice. La Bible dit dans Matthieu 6:33 :
"Cherchez premièrement le royaume et la justice de Dieu, et toutes ces choses vous seront données par-dessus."
Et dans Romains 14:17 :
"Car le royaume de Dieu n’est pas manger et boire, mais justice, paix et joie dans le Saint-Esprit."

Le mot "justice" vient d’une racine qui signifie "droiture". Il fait référence à un état conforme à une norme divine. Ce n’est donc pas ce que les hommes appellent juste qui l’est forcément devant Dieu. Non ! C’est Dieu qui détermine ce qui est juste.

Aujourd’hui, les gens vivent avec négligence et s’attendent à ce que Dieu les accepte tels qu’ils sont. Non, mon ami. Comprenons bien : vous pouvez venir à Dieu en tant que pécheur, mais vous ne pouvez pas rester pécheur. Dieu ne peut pas compromettre Ses standards. Il vous élève à Ses exigences. Sa justice doit être satisfaite.

Nous devons nous efforcer de laisser le Saint-Esprit transformer nos cœurs et nos vies. Le mensonge reste un péché devant Dieu ; la fornication, la tricherie, la corruption, la corruption… sont tous des actes de péché devant Lui. Romains 6:23a reste vrai : "Car le salaire du péché, c’est la mort…" Ceux qui sont sauvés par la grâce ne suivent pas la voie du péché. Ils marchent dans le sentier de la justice, le chemin de la lumière. Nous verrons plus demain.
