Our Right to Exercise Dominion
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
“And God said, Let Us make man in Our Image, after Our Likeness, and let them have Dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
God’s original intention for man was rulership, not survival. Dominion was the first mandate given to humanity at creation. It means exercising authority on God’s behalf, managing the earth under His lordship. Dominion is not pride—it is functioning according to divine purpose. Every child of God carries this right by creation and redemption.
The Blessing: The Engine of Dominion
The real power behind dominion is The Blessing. Right after God created man, He didn’t give him tools or weapons—He blessed him (Genesis 1:28). That blessing was the divine empowerment to be fruitful, multiply, and subdue the earth. Proverbs 10:22 says, “The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” The Blessing is not just words—it is a spiritual force that produces visible results.
When Isaac wanted to bless Esau, he asked him to bring venison that he loved (Genesis 27:3-4). That act of honor was the key to unlock the father’s blessing. Jacob, through discernment, received that same blessing, and it changed his destiny. Likewise, Judah, Jacob’s fourth son, testified that because he honored his parents, his father blessed him and declared that he would be king and prosper in all things. From that moment, divine strength followed him, and he began to conquer easily.
The principle here is clear: Honor provokes the Blessing, and the Blessing empowers Dominion. You cannot walk in dominion while dishonoring God or the authorities He has placed over you.
Submission: The Pathway to Lasting Dominion
The second key to dominion is Submission. Spiritual authority begins with humility. James 4:6–7 teaches that we must first submit to God before we can resist the devil. Dominion flows from alignment. When you submit to God’s authority, all of creation recognizes your authority.
Submission involves three major areas:
1. To the Word of God: The Word defines the boundaries of dominion. When your life agrees with Scripture, your authority carries weight.
2. To the Holy Spirit: Dominion is maintained by divine direction. Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
3. To Spiritual Authority: God channels His grace through human vessels. Submitting to those He has placed over us connects us to divine flow and protection.
True dominion is not domination over people but mastery over life’s circumstances. It is living above fear, sin, and limitation through obedience to God. When you honor, submit, and walk in the Blessing, creation naturally responds to your command.
Living as Sons of Dominion
To live in dominion is to live with the consciousness that Christ restored what Adam lost. In Christ, we are no longer victims of situations—we are kings and priests unto God (Revelation 5:10). Dominion begins within; when we conquer self, sin, and fear, external dominion follows.
Let your thoughts, words, and actions reflect the authority of God in you. Rule over your emotions, manage your resources, and represent Heaven’s order wherever you are. That is what it means to have dominion.

“Et Dieu dit : Faisons l’homme à notre image, selon notre ressemblance, et qu’il domine sur les poissons de la mer, sur les oiseaux du ciel, sur les bestiaux, sur toute la terre, et sur tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre.”
L’intention première de Dieu pour l’homme était la domination, pas la survie. La domination était le premier mandat donné à l’humanité lors de la création. Cela signifie exercer l’autorité au nom de Dieu, gérer la terre sous Sa seigneurie. La domination n’est pas de l’orgueil—c’est fonctionner selon le dessein divin. Chaque enfant de Dieu porte ce droit par création et rédemption.
La Bénédiction : Le Moteur de la Domination
La véritable puissance derrière la domination est La Bénédiction. Juste après que Dieu créa l’homme, Il ne lui donna pas d’outils ou d’armes—Il le bénit (Genèse 1:28). Cette bénédiction était l’habilitation divine à être fructueux, à multiplier et à assujettir la terre. Proverbes 10:22 dit : “La bénédiction du Seigneur enrichit, et Il n’y ajoute pas de douleur.” La Bénédiction n’est pas juste des mots—c’est une force spirituelle qui produit des résultats visibles.
Le principe est clair : L’honneur provoque la Bénédiction, et la Bénédiction habilite la Domination. Vous ne pouvez pas marcher dans la domination tout en déshonorant Dieu ou les autorités qu’Il a placées sur vous.
La Soumission : Le Chemin vers une Domination Durable
La deuxième clé de la domination est La Soumission. L’autorité spirituelle commence par l’humilité. Jacques 4:6–7 enseigne que nous devons d’abord nous soumettre à Dieu avant de résister au diable. La domination découle de l’alignement. Lorsque vous vous soumettez à l’autorité de Dieu, toute la création reconnaît votre autorité. La soumission implique trois domaines majeurs :
1. À la Parole de Dieu : La Parole définit les limites de la domination. Lorsque votre vie est conforme aux Écritures, votre autorité a du poids.
2. Au Saint-Esprit : La domination est maintenue par la direction divine. Romains 8:14 dit : “Car tous ceux qui sont conduits par l’Esprit de Dieu sont fils de Dieu.”
3. À l’Autorité Spirituelle : Dieu canalise Sa grâce à travers des vases humains. Se soumettre à ceux qu’Il a placés sur nous nous relie au flot divin et à la protection.
La véritable domination n’est pas la domination sur les gens, mais la maîtrise des circonstances de la vie. C’est vivre au-dessus de la peur, du péché et de la limitation par l’obéissance à Dieu. Lorsque vous honorez, vous soumettez et marchez dans la Bénédiction, la création répond naturellement à votre commandement.
Vivre en Fils de Domination
Vivre en domination, c’est vivre avec la conscience que Christ a restauré ce qu’Adam a perdu. En Christ, nous ne sommes plus des victimes des situations—nous sommes des rois et des sacrificateurs pour Dieu (Apocalypse 5:10). La domination commence à l’intérieur ; lorsque nous vainquons le soi, le péché et la peur, la domination externe suit.
Que Dieu vous aide à marcher quotidiennement dans l’honneur et la soumission afin que Sa bénédiction se manifeste dans chaque domaine de votre vie. Puisse-t-Il vous enseigner à opérer en véritable domination—sur le péché, la peur et chaque situation—afin que Sa gloire soit révélée à travers vous. Au nom puissant de Jésus, Amen.
