Requirement of a True and Committed Worshipper
Matthew 2:10-11 NKJV
“When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”
There is a story in Mathew 2:1-12; it presents to us some wise men from the East who by their investigation, understood that a king was born in Israel; they left their country and decided to come worship Him.
God gave them a special sign, a miraculous star that announced the birth of the King. The star led them to Jerusalem where they were told by the scribes and the priests when and where the King would be born.
They went to Bethlehem, and there they saw the Christ, still a babe, and they worshiped Him. There are very little information about the wise men from the East, let’s examine:
1. The word translated "wise men" (magi) refers to a group of scholars who studied the stars. They were intellectual. We could call them astrologers, yet when they saw the star of Christ, they left their country to come see Him and worship Him.
2. We do not know how many magi there were. From the three gifts listed in Matt 2: 11, some people have assumed there were three kings from the East, though this is not certain. The Bible reports that when their caravan arrived in Jerusalem, there were enough of them to trouble Herod and the whole city, V3. They were men of great influence, yet it did not enter their head, they humbled themselves not only to look for the King, but also to come worship him.
3. These men were also very wealthy- scholars and scientists in their own right. They had a great influence but also great affluence… but they followed the star.
No scholarly person or wealthy person who follows the light God can miss worshiping at the feet of Jesus. In Jesus Christ "are lid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Col 2:3). In Him dwells "all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Col 2:9).
4. The magi were seeking the King to worship Him, but Herod was afraid of the King and wanted to destroy Him. This was Herod the Great called king by the Roman senate because of the influence of Mark Antony, Herod was a cruel and crafty man who permitted no one, not even his own family, to interfere with his rule or prevent the satisfying of his evil desires. A ruthless murderer, History has it that he slain his own wife and her two brothers just because he suspected them of treason. He was married at least nine times in order to fulfill his lusts and strengthen his political ties.
5. The magi were seeking the King to celebrate Him, Herod was opposing the King, and the Jewish priests were ignoring the King.
These priests knew the Scriptures and pointed others to the Savior, but they would not go to worship Him themselves! They quoted Mic 5:2 but did not obey it.
God does not take pleasure in people that only quote the scripture without applying it. God is seeking for true and Committed worshippers.
The priests were just five miles from the very Son of God, yet they did not go to see Him! These Gentiles magi came from far distances, they sought and found the king, but the Jews who were close did not.
What price are you ready to pay to worship God and to bring Him pleasure?
What will it take to be a true and committed worshipper of the king of kings?
1. Understanding of who God is. John 4: 23-24
The magi were scholars. You need to read, study to understand who is this king. You need to attend teachings, conferences, trainings… personal readings…
2. Sacrifice of time
Worship demands your whole life dedicated to God. You need to intentionally create time for God. (The man who did not have time until he got sick…)
3. Sacrifice of resources
Your resources are not limited to money, but also your talents, gifts and abilities dedicated to God. Ring your resources to God.
4. Sacrifice of self.

Humility and Renouncing yourself (Matthew 16: 24)
For many people, worship is synonymous to only singing. Worship is more than just singing to God. And worship is not just a cool, slow or soft song. God loves all kind of music because He created them all. Variety or diversity is of God. Just as we have many races and culture, we also have rhythm to music…
Every activity we do can be transformed into worship when we do all to the pleasure, glory and praise of God.
In conclusion: you need to commit yourself this year to be a true worship and committed worshipper of God.

Exigence d’un Adorateur fidèle et engagé
Matthieu 2 : 10 - 11 NKJV
« Quand ils virent l’étoile, ils se réjouirent d’une joie extrêmement grande. 11 Et étant entrés dans la maison, ils virent le petit enfant avec Marie sa mère; et ils se prosternèrent et l’adorèrent. Et lorsqu’ils eurent ouvert leurs trésors, ils lui présentèrent des présents : de l’or, de l’encens et de la myrrhe. »
Il y a une histoire dans Matthieu 2:1-12; elle nous présente certains hommes sages de l’Orient qui, par leur enquête, ont compris qu’un roi était né en Israël ; ils ont quitté leur pays et ont décidé de venir l’adorer. Dieu leur a donné un signe spécial, une étoile miraculeuse qui annonçait la naissance du Roi. L’étoile les a conduits à Jérusalem où ils ont été informés par les scribes et les prêtres quand et où le Roi naîtrait.
Ils sont allés à Bethléem, et là ils ont vu le Christ, encore un enfant, et ils L’ont adoré. Il y a très peu d’informations sur les mages de l’Est, examinons-les :
1. Le mot traduit par « sages » (mages) désigne un groupe de savants qui étudiaient les étoiles. Ils étaient intellectuels. Nous pourrions les appeler astrologues, pourtant quand ils ont vu l’étoile du Christ, ils ont quitté leur pays pour venir le voir et l’adorer.
2. Nous ne savons pas combien de mages il y en avait. À partir des trois dons énumérés dans Matthieu 2 : 11, certaines personnes ont supposé qu’il y avait trois rois de l’Est, bien que ce ne soit pas certain. La Bible rapporte que lorsque leur caravane arriva à Jérusalem, il y en avait assez pour troubler Hérode et toute la ville, V3. Ils étaient des hommes d’une grande influence, pourtant cela ne leur est pas monté à la tête, ils se sont humiliés non seulement pour chercher le Roi, mais aussi pour venir l’adorer.
3. Ces hommes étaient aussi très riches - des érudits et des scientifiques à part entière. Ils avaient une grande influence mais aussi une grande richesse... mais ils ont suivi l’étoile. Aucune personne érudite ou riche qui suit la lumière de Dieu ne peut manquer d’adorer aux pieds de Jésus. En Jésus-Christ "sont cachés tous les trésors de la sagesse et de la connaissance" (Col 2:3). En Lui habite "toute la plénitude de la Divinité corporellement" (Col 2:9).
4. Les mages cherchaient le roi pour l’adorer, mais Hérode avait peur du roi et voulait le détruire. Ce fut Hérode le Grand appelé roi par le sénat romain en raison de l’influence de Marc Antoine, Hérode était un homme cruel et rusé qui ne permettait à personne, pas même sa propre famille, d’interférer avec son règne ou d’empêcher la satisfaction de ses désirs maléfiques. Un meurtrier impitoyable, l’Histoire dit qu’il a tué sa propre femme et ses deux frères juste parce qu’il les soupçonnait de trahison. Il s’est marié au moins neuf fois afin de satisfaire ses désirs et renforcer ses liens politiques.
5. Les mages cherchaient le roi pour le célébrer, Hérode s’opposait au roi, et les prêtres juifs ignoraient le roi.
Ces prêtres connaissaient les Écritures et indiquaient aux autres le Sauveur, mais ils ne voulaient pas aller l’adorer eux-mêmes ! Ils ont cité Miché 5:2 mais ne lui ont pas obéi.
Dieu ne prend pas de plaisir chez les gens qui se contentent de citer l’écriture sans l’appliquer. Dieu cherche des adorateurs sincères et engagés.
Les prêtres étaient à seulement cinq miles du Fils même de Dieu, pourtant ils ne sont pas allés le voir ! Ces mages des Gentils venaient de loin, ils cherchèrent et trouvèrent le roi, mais les Juifs qui étaient proches ne l’ont pas fait.
Quel prix êtes-vous prêt à payer pour adorer Dieu et lui apporter du plaisir ?
Que faudra-t-il pour être un adorateur sincère et dévoué du roi des rois ?
1. Compréhension de qui est Dieu. Jean 4 : 23-24
Les mages étaient des érudits. Vous devez lire, étudier pour comprendre qui est ce roi. Vous devez assister à des enseignements, des conférences, des formations... lectures personnelles...
2. Sacrifice de temps.
Le culte exige que toute votre vie soit consacrée à Dieu. Vous devez créer intentionnellement du temps pour Dieu.
3. Sacrifice des ressources
Vos ressources ne sont pas limitées à l’argent, mais aussi vos talents, dons et capacités dédiés à Dieu. Appelez vos ressources à Dieu.
4. Sacrifice de soi.
Romains 12 : 1-2
L’humilité et le renoncement à soi-même (Matthieu 16:24)
Pour beaucoup de gens, l’adoration est synonyme de seulement chanter. L’adoration est plus qu’un simple chant à Dieu. Et l’adoration n’est pas juste une chanson cool, lente ou douce. Dieu aime toutes sortes de musique parce qu’il les a tous créés. La variété ou la diversité est de Dieu. Tout comme nous avons de nombreuses races et cultures, nous avons aussi un rythme en musique...
Chaque activité que nous faisons peut être transformée en culte lorsque nous faisons tout pour le plaisir, la gloire et la louange de Dieu.
En conclusion : vous devez vous engager cette année pour être un véritable culte et un adorateur engagé de Dieu.
