Don't Look To Your Faith, Look To Jesus

Hebrews 12:2

"Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith..."

When you enter your house that is connected to the electricity network in the night, you immediately turn on the switch without asking any question or making any call. Why? Because you have the assurance that electricity is available and that by turning on the switch, the contact is established and the bulb will inevitably release the light. Isn't it? 

Friends, the same is true for the forgiveness of our sins. Grace and mercy are avaible at the throne of grace (Heb 4:16). The same with healing and all other redemptive blessings. If you are sick, you must know that you are already healed because of the finished work of Christ. Don't ask, "Do I have enough faith to be healed? Do I have the right kind of faith to be healed? What if I am lacking in faith?" You are focusing on yourself and your faith, instead on Christ and His finished work. 

You should be asking, "Did Jesus take away this sickness? If He did, then He must have done a perfect work." In other words, fix your eyes on Jesus and His perfect work. The as when your house is electrified, you do not ask questions to put in the light. You don't focus on your capacity. You know that the electricity company is there doing the work. If your light is not on, the problem may be on your side and not theirs. I meant when we have sure electricity company like the one in America that celebrated 100 years of constant supply. 

AB Simpson, who lived in the 19th century, wrote an article entitled "Himself". In it, he mentioned his exhausted nervous system, and broken-down heart which could have proved fatal any time. So he sought the Lord for healing. God showed him Matthew 8:17, which says that Jesus 

"Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses".

AB Simpson said that though he believed that Jesus had borne away his sicknesses, he saw many hindrances which stood between him and his healing. And they all boiled down to one thing - his preoccupation with his faith! He had believed that if only he had the "right" kind of faith, he would receive his healing instantly.

He eventually came to the realization that he had to remove that last hindrance - his focus on his faith - and just resting the finished work of Christ. That revelation marked his complete recovery from his sicknesses.

When you ask yourself, "Do I have enough faith?" you have already put faith as a hindrance between you and Jesus' finished work. The more you focus on your faith, the more faith slips away. But if you focus on the finished work of Christ and see God's grace toward you, God sees that as faith! Without realizing it, faith is there in your spirit and your heart to believe that you will not die of what Christ Himself has already borne away completely for you, and you will see your miracle manifest! So, my friend, fix your eyes on Jesus Christ. Locate the verse that speak of what He has already done for you and keep holding unto it. You will see the same word of God come true.

« Regardons à Jésus, l'Auteur et le consommateur de la foi… »

Lorsque vous entrez la nuit dans votre maison connectée au réseau électrique, vous allumez immédiatement l'interrupteur sans poser de question ni faire d'appel. Pourquoi ? Parce que vous avez l'assurance que l'électricité est disponible et qu'en allumant l'interrupteur, le contact est établi et l'ampoule s'allumera inévitablement. N'est-ce pas ? 

Mes amis, il en va de même pour le pardon de nos péchés. La grâce et la miséricorde sont disponibles au trône de la grâce (Hébreux 4:16). Vous confessez et vous repentez, Dieu vous as déjà accordé sa grâce. 

Il en va de même pour la guérison et toutes les autres bénédictions rédemptrices. Si vous êtes malade, sachez que vous êtes déjà guéri grâce à l'œuvre accomplie de Christ. Ne vous demandez pas : « Ai-je assez de foi pour être guéri ? Ai-je la bonne foi pour être guéri ? Et si je manque de foi ? » Vous vous concentrez sur vous-même et votre foi, plutôt que sur Christ et son œuvre accomplie. Vous devriez plutôt vous demander : « Jésus a-t-il guéri cette maladie ? Si oui, alors il a dû accomplir une œuvre parfaite. » Autrement dit, fixez vos yeux sur Jésus et son œuvre parfaite.

Par exemple, lorsque votre maison est électrifiée, vous ne vous posez pas de questions pour allumer la lumière. Vous ne vous concentrez pas sur vos capacités. Vous savez que la compagnie d'électricité est là pour faire le travail. Si votre lumière est éteinte, le problème vient peut-être de vous et non du leur. Je parle ici d'une compagnie d'électricité fiable, comme celle des états unis qui a fêté ses 100 ans d'approvisionnement continu. 

AB Simpson, qui a vécu au XIXe siècle, a écrit un article intitulé « Lui-même ». Il y évoquait son système nerveux épuisé et son cœur brisé, qui auraient pu lui être fatals à tout moment. Il a donc cherché la guérison auprès du Seigneur. Dieu lui a montré Matthieu 8:17, qui dit que Jésus 

« Lui-même a pris nos infirmités et s'est chargé de nos maladies ».

AB Simpson a déclaré que, bien qu'il croyait que Jésus avait porté ses maladies, il voyait de nombreux obstacles se dresser entre lui et sa guérison. Et tous se résumaient à une seule chose : sa préoccupation pour sa foi ! Il croyait que s'il avait la « bonne » foi, il recevrait sa guérison instantanément. Il finit par comprendre qu'il devait se débarrasser de ce dernier obstacle – sa concentration sur sa foi – et se concentrer uniquement sur l'œuvre achevée du Christ. Cette révélation marqua sa guérison complète.

Quand vous vous demandez : « Ai-je assez de foi ? », vous avez déjà placé la foi comme un obstacle entre vous et l'œuvre achevée de Jésus. Plus vous vous concentrez sur votre foi, plus elle vous échappe. Mais si vous vous concentrez sur l'œuvre achevée de Christ et voyez la grâce de Dieu envers vous, Dieu voit cela comme de la foi ! Sans que vous vous en rendiez compte, la foi est présente dans votre esprit et votre cœur pour croire que vous ne mourrez pas de ce que Christ lui-même a déjà entièrement porté pour vous, et vous verrez votre miracle se manifester ! 

Alors, mon ami, fixe tes yeux sur Jésus-Christ. Trouve le verset qui parle de ce qu'il a déjà fait pour toi et continue à t'y accrocher. Tu verras la même parole de Dieu se réaliser.
