Get Involved in preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom (Part One)
Matthew 24:14
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come"
Have you ever taken time to ask yourself what is really the Gospel of the Kingdom? Jesus Christ revealed that there is a gospel that will usher in the end of the world when that gospel must have been preached to all the earth, The Gospel of the Kingdom. Many people are busy here and there doing church, but few have taken time to ask themselves, what is the Gospel of the Kingdom that Jesus Christ was talking about?
The Apostle Paul warned Christians about “a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ” (Galatians 1:6–7). Just what is the Gospel that Jesus preached, and what does it have to do with end-time events?
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is far more than the gospel about Jesus that is heard in most churches today. The Apostle Paul warned of this 2,000 years ago when he said,
"If he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached… or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!" (2 Corinthians 11:4).
Who Jesus is and how we are forgiven through Him is a vital part of the Gospel, to be sure. This aspect of the message is essential, but when it is the only part of the message preached, it becomes shallow and neglects most of the Gospel—or “good news”—our Savior actually taught.
Jesus certainly pointed to the sacrifice He would make for mankind for the remission of sins, but He also taught so much more that He wanted His followers to hear and act on—including the coming Kingdom of God, end-time prophecies, and what kind of life they should live.
Jesus preached the Kingdom of God and directed His disciples to do the same. The Bible revealed that Jesus Christ came “preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God” (Mark 1:14) and said that “for this purpose I have been sent” (Luke 4:43).
After He had trained His disciples,
"He sent them to preach the kingdom of God" (Luke 9:2).
He told all His followers to “seek first the kingdom of God”
(Matthew 6:33).
After His death and resurrection, He spent 40 days teaching His disciples “things pertaining to the kingdom of God” (Acts 1:3).
He commissioned His Church to carry on proclaiming the same Gospel (Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:14–20; Acts 1:8).
Jesus even continued to work with them after He ascended to heaven, as is recorded in Mark 16:20:
“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.”
The Apostle Paul also preached not only about Jesus, but also the same Gospel of the Kingdom that Jesus taught. After he had essentially been put under house arrest in Rome, he “received all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 28:30–31).
It is the same message that Jesus even prophesied that His Church would be preaching the same message at the very end of the age, saying,
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."
(Matthew 24:14).
I tell you, that most Christians today do not have a grasp of the very reason for which the church was established by Jesus Christ, namely to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. What is that Gospel of the Kingdom and how involved am I in preaching it? Let us reflect over this?

Avez-vous déjà pris le temps de vous demander ce qu'est réellement l'Évangile du Royaume ? Jésus-Christ a révélé qu'il existe un Évangile qui marquera la fin du monde, lorsque cet Évangile aura dû être prêché à toute la terre : l'Évangile du Royaume. Nombreux sont ceux qui s'affairent ici et là aux affaires de l'église, mais peu ont pris le temps de se demander : quel est l'Évangile duq Royaume dont Jésus-Christ en parlait ?
L'apôtre Paul avait mis en garde les chrétiens contre « un autre Évangile, qui n'est pas un autre ; mais il y a des gens qui vous troublent et qui veulent renverser l'Évangile de Christ » (Galates 1:6-7). Qu'est-ce que l'Évangile prêché par Jésus et quel est son rapport avec les événements de la fin des temps ? L'Évangile de Jésus-Christ est bien plus que l'Évangile à propos de Jésus tel qu'il est entendu dans la plupart des églises aujourd'hui. L'apôtre Paul a lancé cet avertissement il y a 2 000 ans : « Si quelqu'un vient vous prêcher un autre Jésus que celui que nous avons prêché… ou un autre Évangile que celui que vous n'avez pas embrassé, vous pouvez le supporter ! » (2 Corinthiens 11:4).
La personne de Jésus et la manière dont nous sommes pardonnés par lui constituent assurément un élément essentiel de l'Évangile. Cet aspect du message est essentiel, mais lorsqu'il est le seul à être prêché, il devient superficiel et néglige la majeure partie de l'Évangile – ou de la « bonne nouvelle » – que notre Sauveur a réellement enseigné.
Jésus a certes souligné le sacrifice qu'il ferait pour l'humanité en vue de la rémission des péchés, mais il a aussi enseigné bien plus qu'il souhaitait que ses disciples entendent et mettent en pratique, notamment la venue du Royaume de Dieu, les prophéties de la fin des temps et le genre de vie qu'ils devraient mener. Jésus a prêché le Royaume de Dieu et a demandé à ses disciples de faire de même. La Bible révèle que Jésus-Christ est venu « prêcher l'Évangile du royaume de Dieu » (Marc 1:14) et a dit : « J'ai été envoyé pour cela » (Luc 4:43).
Après avoir formé ses disciples,
« Il les envoya prêcher le royaume de Dieu » (Luc 9:2).
Il a dit à tous ses disciples de « chercher premièrement le royaume de Dieu » (Matthieu 6:33).
Après sa mort et sa résurrection, il passa 40 jours à enseigner à ses disciples « les choses qui concernent le royaume de Dieu » (Actes 1:3). Il chargea son Église de continuer à proclamer le même Évangile (Matthieu 28:18-20 ; Marc 16:14-20 ; Actes 1:8). Jésus continua même à œuvrer avec eux après son ascension au ciel, comme le rapporte Marc 16:20 : « Ils allèrent prêcher partout. Le Seigneur travaillait avec eux et confirmait la parole par les miracles qui l’accompagnaient. »
L’apôtre Paul prêcha également non seulement Jésus, mais aussi le même Évangile du Royaume que Jésus enseignait. Après avoir été assigné à résidence à Rome, il
« accueillait tous ceux qui venaient à lui, prêchant le royaume de Dieu et enseignant ce qui concerne le Seigneur Jésus-Christ » (Actes 28:30-31).
C'est le même message que Jésus a prophétisé, selon lequel son Église prêcherait à la fin des temps, en disant :
Q« Cette bonne nouvelle du royaume sera prêchée dans le monde entier, pour servir de témoignage à toutes les nations. Alors viendra la fin. » (Matthieu 24:14).
Je vous le dis, la plupart des chrétiens d'aujourd'hui ignorent la raison même pour laquelle l'Église a été fondée par Jésus-Christ : prêcher l'Évangile du Royaume de Dieu. Quel est cet Évangile du Royaume et dans quelle mesure suis-je impliqué dans sa prédication ? Réfléchissons-y !
