Understand and Flow with the Holy Spirit (Part Two)
John 14:26 (NKJV)
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."
This morning, we shall be answering the question, Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead or Holy trinity. Again, unfortunately He is the most mystical person of the Trinity. The doctrine of the Holy Spirit is the most controversial and the most misunderstood doctrine of the Bible about the Holy trinity in the body of Christ.
Due to the strange and mystical person of the Holy Spirit, many divisions in the body of Christ from history and even today are related to the misinterpretation of the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
For instance,
- Pentecostalism is founded on the belief of a second experience of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. While most evangelical and protestant churches stand for one experience at conversion.
- The Charismatics on the side belief in the experience of the Holy Spirit with manifestation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit such as Healing and miracles, etc.
- The new movement of the Prophetic ministries emphasizes the gift of Knowledge and prophecy.
- It is worth to note that the Jehovah Witnesses cult emerged also as a result of their founder’s misunderstand of the doctrine of Christ and the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Their founder held that, rather than being a person, the Holy Spirit is a force.
- On a different platform, most defenders of Islam believe that the person that Jesus (Issa) promised was coming was not the Holy Spirit, but rather Mohamed their prophet. Nothing could be further from the truth than that.
Meanwhile the Bible presents to us clearly the person, the works and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Today we will focus on the Holy Spirit as person, the third person in the holy trinity.
First, let's know that the Holy Spirit is not a wind, neither a dove, nor water, fire, rain, or oil… THESE ARE SYMBOLS TO REPRESENT THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. He is a person. How do we know that?
1. He is addressed by Jesus Christ and other writers of the Bible as “He” and not “it”; John 14: 15-18
2. He has personal attributes and expresses emotions.
- He knows the mind of God, 1 Cor 2: 9-11
- He gives gifts according to the will of God, 1 Cor 12: 11,
- He can be grieved, Isaiah 63:10
So, this implies that the Holy Spirit has wisdom, prudence and discretion
3. Personal acts are attributed to Him.
- He speaks; Rev 2: 7, Acts 21: 11
- He calls missionaries, Acts 13: 2
- He makes intercession, Romans 8: 26
- He raises overseers for the church, Acts 20: 28
- He teaches Luke 12:12
- He testifies to our Spirit Romans 8: 16
- We can experience His fellowship, 2 Corinthians 13:14
- He commands and guides the ministry of Apostles Acts 16: 6-8 (He directs, allows, and forbids the ministry of apostles and all the church.
- He guides, counsels, comforts, helps… John 14:26, 15:26; 16:13
With all of the above, will you not seek a personal and deep fellowship and intimacy with the Holy Spirit?
Pray this Prayer: "Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I welcome the Holy Spirit in my heart and I give Him full authority to lead and to guide me. Help me Father to discern and understand His leadings in my life." Amen!

Comprendre et suivre le Saint-Esprit (Deuxième Partie)

"Mais le consolateur, l’Esprit-Saint, que le Père enverra en mon nom, vous enseignera toutes choses, et vous rappellera tout ce que je vous ai dit."
Ce matin, nous répondrons à la question : Qui est le Saint-Esprit ?
Le Saint-Esprit est la troisième personne de la trinité. Il est la personne la plus mystique de la Trinité. La doctrine du Saint-Esprit est la plus controversée et la plus mal comprise de la Bible concernant la Sainte Trinité dans le corps du Christ.
En raison de la personne étrange et mystique du Saint-Esprit, de nombreuses divisions au sein du corps du Christ, au cours de l'histoire et même aujourd'hui, sont liées à une mauvaise interprétation de la personne et de l'œuvre du Saint-Esprit.
Par exemple,
-Le pentecôtisme est fondé sur la croyance en une seconde expérience du baptême du Saint-Esprit,
Tandis que la plupart des églises évangéliques et protestantes prônent une expérience unique lors de la conversion.
-Les charismatiques, quant à eux, croient en l'expérience du Saint-Esprit et à la manifestation de ses dons, tels que la guérison et les miracles.
-Le nouveau mouvement des ministères prophétiques met l'accent sur le don de connaissance et de prophétie.
Il convient de noter que la secte des Témoins de Jéhovah est également née d'une incompréhension de la doctrine du Christ et de celle du Saint-Esprit par son fondateur. Ce dernier soutenait que le Saint-Esprit n'était pas une personne, mais une force.
Sur un autre plan, la plupart des défenseurs de l'islam croient que la personne promise par Jésus (Issa) n'était pas le Saint-Esprit, mais plutôt Mahomet, leur prophète. Rien n'est plus faux que cela.
La Bible nous présente clairement la personne, les œuvres et le ministère du Saint-Esprit.
Aujourd'hui, nous nous concentrerons sur le Saint-Esprit en tant que personne, la troisième personne de la Sainte Trinité.
In convient tout d'abord de noté que le Saint-Esprit n'est ni le vent, ni une colombe, ni l'eau, ni le feu, ni la pluie, ni l'huile… CE Sont ICI DES SYMBOLES QUI REPRÉSENTENT LA PERSONNE ET L'ŒUVRE DU SAINT-ESPRIT.
LE SAINT-ESPRIT est une personne. Comment le savons-nous ?
1. Jésus-Christ et d'autres auteurs de la Bible le désigne avec le pronom personnel « Il » et non « cela » ; Jean 14:15-18
2. Il possède des attributs personnels et exprime des émotions tels que.
- Il connaît la pensée de Dieu, 1 Co 2:9-11
- Il donne des dons selon la volonté de Dieu, 1 Co 12:11
- Il peut être attristé, Ésaïe 63:10
Cela implique que le Saint-Esprit possède sagesse, prudence et discernement.
3. Des actes personnels lui sont attribués.
- Il parle ; Apocalypse 2:7, Actes 21:11
- Il appelle des missionnaires, Actes 13:2
- Il intercède, Romains 8:26
- Il établit des surveillants pour l'Église, Actes 20:28
- Il enseigne Luc 12:12
- Il témoigne de notre Esprit, Romains 8:16
- Nous pouvons faire l'expérience de sa communion, 2 Corinthiens 13:14
- Il commande et guide le ministère des apôtres, Actes 16:6-8 (Il dirige, autorise et interdit le ministère des apôtres et de toute l'Église).
- Il guide, conseille, réconforte, aide… Jean 14:26, 15:26 ; 16:13
Avec tout ce qui précède, ne rechercherez-vous pas la communion et l'intimité avec le Saint-Esprit ?
Faites cette prière : Père, au nom de Jésus-Christ, j’accueille le Saint-Esprit dans mon cœur et je lui donne toute autorité pour me guider. Aide-moi, Père, à discerner et à comprendre ses directives dans ma vie. Amen.
