Understanding and flowing with the Holy Spirit (Part Three)
1 John 5:7
“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.”
This morning, we shall examine the deity of the Holy Spirit. IS THE HOLY SPIRIT GOD? And how do you prove it? We will tackle the question from four angles:
1. Divine names are given to The Holy Spirit.
In Acts 5:3-4, Peter referred to the Holy Spirit as God.
“But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?...You have not lied to men but to God.”
So, lying to the Holy Spirit was interpreted as lying to God.
The Holy Spirit is called Lord in 2 Corinthians 3: 17.
The Holy Spirit received equal consideration with the Father and the Son in 2 Corinthians 13: 14 and Matthew 28: 19.
In our opening passage, the The Father, The Word (Jesus Christ) and The Holy Spirit are one.
The Holy Spirit is also given equal consideration with the Father and the Son in the administration of the church in 1 Corinthians 12: 4-6. So, we can rightly Say that He is God. This is even more visible in the next point:
2. The Holy Spirit has divine attributes
- He is eternal, (Hebrews 9: 14)
- He is omnipresent, (Psalms 139: 7-10)
- He is omnipotent, (Luke 1: 35)
- He is omniscient, (1 Corinthians 2: 10,11)
More again that we see from the Bible about the Holy Spirit:
3. The Holy Spirit performs divine works
- Creation, (Gen 1: 2, ps 104: 30, Job 33: 4)
- Regeneration; (John 3: 5-8)
- Resurrection; (Rom 8: 11)
4. Other names given to the Holy Spirit reveal His divinity.
Spirit of Grace, (Hebrews 10: 29)
Spirit of Truth, He possesses, reveals, leads us into, testifies to, and defends the truth (1 John 4: 6).
Spirit of life, (Romans 8: 2).
Spirit of glory (1 Peter 4: 14)
Spirit of God and of Christ, (Romans 8:9; 1 Cor. 3: 16)
The Holy Spirit is sent from the Father and the Son and He is the executor of the will and the purpose of the Father and Son. The Holy Spirit individually empowers everybody.
He is also known as the seven Spirits of the Lord (Rev 3:1, 4:5, 5:6). It is not that there are seven Holy Spirits, but one Spirit of God who manifests seven abilities through men. They are revealed in Isaiah 11: 1-2: The Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit of Wisdom, the Spirit Understanding, the Spirit Counsel, the Spirit of Might, the Spirit of Knowledge and the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord.
Jesus was designated as the one to carry this sevenfold dimension. I pray that the Holy Spirit will fill you and manifest these qualities in your life in Jesus name, amen!

« Car il y en a trois qui rendent témoignage dans le ciel : le Père, la Parole et le Saint-Esprit ; et ces trois sont un. »
Ce matin, nous examinerons la divinité du Saint-Esprit.
LE SAINT-ESPRIT EST-IL DIEU ? Comment le prouver ?
Nous abordons la question sous quatre angles :
1. Des noms divins sont donnés au Saint-Esprit
Dans Actes 5: 3-4, Pierre fait référence au Saint-Esprit comme étant Dieu.
« Mais Pierre dit : Ananias, pourquoi Satan a-t-il rempli ton cœur, au point que tu mentes au Saint-Esprit et que tu retiennes une partie du prix du champ ?… Tu n'as pas menti aux hommes, mais à Dieu. »
Don, selon Pierre, mentir au Saint-Esprit c'est mentir à Dieu.
Le Saint-Esprit est appelé Seigneur dans 2 Corinthiens 3:17.
Il est considéré à égalité avec le Père et le Fils dans 2 Corinthiens 13:14 ; Matthieu 28:19. Dans notre passage d'ouverture, les trois, Le Père, La Parole (Jesus Christ) et Le Saint-Esprit ne font qu'un.
Il est également considéré à égalité avec le Père et le Fils dans l'administration de l'Église dans 1 Corinthiens 12:4-6. Donc, noir pouvons dire que le Saint-Esprit est Dieu. Cela est en ore plus visible dans le point suivant:
2. Le Saint-Esprit possède des attributs divins :
- Il est éternel, (Hébreux 9:14)
- Il est omniprésent, (Psaume 139:7-10)
- Il est omnipotent, (Luc 1:35)
- Il est omniscient, (1 Corinthiens 2:10,11).
En plus,
3. Le Saint-Esprit accomplit des œuvres divines

4. D'autres noms donnés au Saint-Esprit font référence à sa divinité.
Esprit de grâce, (Hébreux 10:29)
Esprit de vérité, Il possède, révèle, nous conduit, témoigne et défend la vérité, (1 Jean 4:6)
Esprit de vie, (Romains 8:2)
Esprit de gloire, (1 Pierre 4:14)
Esprit de Dieu et du Christ, (Romains 8:9; 1 Corinthians 10:10 3:16)
Le Saint-Esprit est envoyé par le Père et le Fils et il est l'exécuteur de la volonté et du dessein du Père et du Fils. Le Saint-Esprit donne à chacun sa puissance individuelle.
Il est connu comme les sept Esprits du Seigneur (Apocalypse 3:1, 4:5, 5:6). Ce n'est pas qu'il y a sept Saint Esprit, non ! Mais un Saint Esprit qui manifeste Sept capacités. Elles sont révélés dans Ésaïe 11:2 : l'Esprit du Seigneur, l'Esprit de Sagesse, l'Esprit d'Intelligence, l'Esprit de Conseil, l'Esprit de Force, l'Esprit de Connaissance et l'Esprit de la crainte du Seigneur.
Je prie que le Seigneur vous accorde de manifester ces sept dimensions de l'Esprit au Nom de Jésus-Christ, Amen !
