Understand and Experience the Blessings of True Worship (Part Four)

Genesis 22: 16-17 NKJV)

"and said: "By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son — 17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.""

The words above are from an angel of God to Abraham, the father of faith. This was the second time in this chapter that the angel of the Lord appeared to him and spoke to him. This was after he had just offered a lamb in replacement of Isaac, his son. 

The Lord tested Abraham's faith and commitment to serve God. After waiting for this son for twenty five years, and seeing the son turned about twelve years of age. Abraham proved to be loyal and obedient to God all along. 

Friends, when you make up your mind to be a true worshiper, your faith will be tested. God will make demands on you. You need to be sensitive and obedient to His word. Doing what God demands and you will see His blessings. Worshipping God demands that you surrender your all on the altar of God. Abraham surrendered all. 

Abraham had several other encounters with God through visions or the visitations of angels. One of them is recorded in Genesis 17. The angel appeared to reiterate God's covenant with Abraham and his need to be loyal and obedient. Verses 1-2, 9 (NKJV) say: 

" When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. [2] And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”... [9] And God said to Abraham: “As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations."

Have you seen this sentence, "Walk before me and be blameless"?

Friends, God cannot bless you beyond the level of your commitment to keep His covenant. Only those who are engaged in keeping His covenant will enjoy His blessings. Many today want God blessings with no commitment to serve His purposes. It doesn't work like that. No commitment, no blessings. 

And so, hear what the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven and told him because of his obedience 

"By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son — 17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

Have you noticed these two sentences:

1. Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son. 

2. Because you have obeyed my voice. 

What are you doing for God? When you are a true worshiper of God, there are things you must do for God. They are called acts of worship. Through them, the blessings of God are activated in our life. 

Some acts of worship include. 

1. Prayer and fasting 

2. Evangelism 

3. Participation in worship services 

4. Giving of offrings and tithes 

5. Helping the needy and the poor

6. Visiting the sick 

7. Sowing into missions and Evangelistic projects. 

8. Obedience to God's Word. Just to name a few. 

Worship is never a passive belief in the heart. It is translated into tangible and practical acts. When those are done, we see God enacting the blessings of His covenant in our lives.

In which of the above acts of worship are you weak or lacking? Check the list again and adjust your life. You will begin to see the blessings of true worship in your life.

Comprendre et expérimenter les bénédictions de la véritable adoration (Quatrième Partie)

 Genèse 22:16-17 (LSG)

« Et dit : « Je jure par moi-même, dit l'Éternel, parce que tu as agi ainsi, et que tu n'as pas refusé ton fils, ton unique, 17 je te bénirai, et je multiplierai ta postérité comme les étoiles du ciel et comme le sable qui est au bord de la mer ; et ta postérité possédera la porte de ses ennemis. »

Ces paroles sont adressées par un ange de Dieu à Abraham, le père de la foi. C'était la deuxième fois dans ce chapitre que l'ange du Seigneur lui apparaissait et lui parlait. C'était après qu'il eut offert un agneau en remplacement d'Isaac, son fils. Le Seigneur a mis à l'épreuve la foi d'Abraham et son engagement à servir Dieu. Après avoir attendu ce fils pendant vingt-cinq ans et l'avoir vu atteindre ses douze ans, Abraham a toujours fait preuve de loyauté et d'obéissance envers Dieu. 

Mes amis, lorsque vous décidez d'être un véritable adorateur, votre foi sera mise à l'épreuve. Dieu vous fera des exigences. Soyez sensibles et obéissants à sa parole. Faites ce que Dieu exige et vous verrez ses bénédictions. 

Adorer Dieu exige que vous vous abandonniez entièrement sur son autel, vous et tous ce que vous avez. Abraham a tout abandonné.

Abraham eut plusieurs autres rencontres avec Dieu par le biais de visions ou de visitations des anges. L'une d'elles est d'ailleur rapportée dans Genèse 17. L'ange apparut pour réitérer l'alliance de Dieu avec Abraham et son besoin de loyauté et d'obéissance. Les versets 1-2, 9 (LSG) disent : « "Lorsqu'Abram eut quatre-vingt-dix-neuf ans, l'Éternel lui apparut et lui dit : « Je suis le Dieu Tout-Puissant ; marche devant ma face et sois intègre. » [2] J'établirai mon alliance entre moi et toi, et je te multiplierai à l'extrême. »... [9] Dieu dit à Abraham : « Toi, tu garderas mon alliance, toi et ta descendance après toi, de génération en génération. » Avez-vous lu cette phrase :

 « Marche devant moi et sois intègre » ? 

Mes amis, Dieu ne peut vous bénir au-delà de votre engagement à respecter son alliance. Seuls ceux qui s'engagent à respecter son alliance bénéficieront de ses bénédictions. Nombreux sont ceux aujourd'hui qui désirent les bénédictions de Dieu sans s'engager à servir ses desseins. Ça ne marche pas comme ça. Sans engagement, pas de bénédictions.

Écoutez donc ce que l'Ange du Seigneur appela Abraham une seconde fois du ciel et lui dit à cause de son obéissance : 

« Par moi-même, je jure, dit le Seigneur, parce que tu as agi ainsi et que tu n'as pas refusé ton fils, ton unique, 17 je te bénirai, et je multiplierai ta descendance comme les étoiles du ciel et comme le sable qui est au bord de la mer ; et ta descendance possédera la porte de ses ennemis. 18 Toutes les nations de la terre seront bénies en ta descendance, parce que tu as obéi à ma voix. »

Avez-vous remarqué ces deux phrases : 

1. Parce que tu as agi ainsi et que tu n'as pas refusé ton fils, ton unique. 

2. Parce que tu as obéi à ma voix. 

Que faites-vous pour Dieu ? Lorsque vous êtes un véritable adorateur de Dieu, il y a des choses que vous devez faire pour Lui. On les appelle des actes d'adoration. Par eux, les bénédictions de Dieu sont activées dans notre vie. Voici quelques actes d'adoration. 

1. Prière et jeûne 

2. Évangélisation

3. Participation aux cultes 

4. Don d'offrandes et de dîmes 

5. Aide aux nécessiteux et aux pauvres 

6. Visite aux malades 

7. Semer dans les missions et les projets d'évangélisation.

8. L'obéissance à la Parole de Dieu. Pour n'en citer que quelques-unes. 

L'adoration n'est jamais une croyance passive du cœur. Elle se traduit par des actes tangibles et pratiques. Lorsque ceux-ci sont accomplis, nous voyons Dieu manifester les bénédictions de son alliance dans nos vies. 

Parmi les actes d'adoration ci-dessus, lesquels manquent à votre vie ? Consultez à nouveau la liste et ajuster votre vie. Vous commencerez à percevoir les bénédictions de la véritable adoration.
